A painted limestone relief from Egypt’s New Kingdom, carved in raised relief — a labor-intensive technique associated with elite commissions — depicting a high-ranking official adorned with a broad collar and bag wig, accompanied by his wife whose hand rests on his shoulder in a gesture of quiet intimacy. Themodelingg is refined, with drilled nostrils, a softly defined jawline, and graceful cosmetic lines, reflecting the sculptural language seen under the reigns of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III
Originally part of a larger tomb composition within the Theban necropolis, this fragment retains the compositional clarity and restraint associated with 18th Dynasty relief carving. Mounted on its mid-20th century base, the shallow carving and muted ochre tones respond subtly to light, shifting in depth and presence depending on angle and illumination
